Let me introduce myself.
My name is Ralph Shaw. I started in radio in 1972 at WIFM, Elkin, NC while I was a junior in high school. For over five decades, I worked in several radio and television stations as an on-air personality and journalist. My background includes duties at stations in Elkin, Sparta, Mt. Airy, North Wilkesboro, Burlington, Lexington, Roxboro, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point, Charlotte and Raleigh, NC and in Washington, DC. Also, I have been a national network news correspondent for ABC, AP, CBS, NBC, NPR and UPI.
During my career, I have won over 30 awards for excellence in journalism, including five reporter-of-the-year awards from the North Carolina Associated Press Broadcasters and the Radio-Television News Directors’ Association of the Carolina’s.
I have appeared in several movies, recorded thousands of commercials and provided voiceovers for industrial and instructional videos.
In addition to being a wedding officiant, I also provide numerous broadcast services, such as, voiceovers for commercials/industrial/promotional videos; and, do substitute work for D-J shifts and news anchor shifts.
